Non-Medical Services Policy

Last updated: 17th April 2025

At Trusted Companions, we specialise in providing companionship services to individuals who may need social interaction, emotional support, or assistance with light, non-medical activities. Our companions are committed to ensuring that each client enjoys a meaningful, engaging experience with our services. However, it is important to note the boundaries of the services we offer.

Services We Provide

Our agency offers companionship services focused on enhancing the social and emotional well-being of our clients. These include:

  • Social Companionship: Engaging in friendly conversation, building social interaction, and helping combat loneliness.

  • Emotional Support: Offering empathetic listening and providing encouragement for overall emotional wellbeing.

  • Activity Engagement: Supporting clients in hobbies and activities, such as walks, reading, games, and creative arts, to foster mental stimulation and joy.

  • Light Household Support: Assistance with light tasks associated with companionship, such as arranging the home for social activities or light housekeeping, but not medical or personal care.

  • Accompaniment on Outings: Escorting clients to social events, outings, or activities, such as grocery shopping or attending appointments (excluding medical appointments).

Services We Do Not Provide

While we are committed to enhancing our clients' quality of life through companionship, we do not provide any medical or personal care services. The following are services Trusted Companions does not provide:

  • Personal Care Services: Assistance with tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming, or personal hygiene.

  • Medication Administration: We do not assist with administering or managing medications.

  • Nursing Care: Our companions are not trained to provide nursing services, including administering injections, wound care, or monitoring vital signs.

  • Physical Therapy: We do not offer any form of physical therapy or rehabilitation services.

  • Palliative or End-of-Life Care: We do not provide palliative care, end-of-life care, or hospice services.

  • Transportation to Medical Appointments: Our companions are not authorized to transport clients to medical appointments or provide medical assistance during visits.

  • Home Health Care Services: We do not offer home health care or other medical treatments.

Client Responsibility

By using our services, clients agree to acknowledge that Trusted Companions offers non-medical companionship services only. If clients require any medical, nursing, or personal care services, it is their responsibility to seek additional professional services from a qualified provider.

If necessary, we are happy to assist clients in finding referrals to relevant health care providers, home care agencies, or other professionals as required.

Why We Do Not Provide Medical or Personal Care Services

Our companions are trained in providing companionship and emotional support. They are not licensed medical professionals or caregivers with the necessary training or certification to provide medical treatments, personal care, or nursing services. This ensures that the focus of our services remains on social companionship and mental well-being, without the risks and responsibilities associated with medical care.

Referrals to Other Services

If you or your loved one require personal care or medical services, we recommend seeking additional support from qualified healthcare providers or agencies. We are happy to provide you with referrals to trusted services for your needs.
